Diego and Frida, two names that transcend time. Painting and love intertwined in the history of Mexican art.

In papel picado, the beauty of La Catrina has been immortalized; that elegant, skeletal lady who personifies death with a dose of humor and grace. She elegantly dresses in clothing from the high society of the Porfirian era, characterized by her hat adorned with feathers and her carefree attitude. This image became popular thanks to a series of engravings made in the early 20th century by the Mexican illustrator and engraver José Guadalupe Posada. Posada was known for his sharp social criticism and satirical style, often accompanying his graphic work with verses or literary calaveras.
