SYNOPSIS: This book is the first publication of a project in constant development, dedicated to the documentation of color combinations made with Venetian mosaics on facades and interiors of houses and buildings in the capital. This finish is characteristic of the architecture of the mid-twentieth century in Mexico City and has become part of its identity. The samples were obtained mainly from the Narvarte, Del Valle, Portales, Roma and Santa María la Ribera colonies, among others, from the Benito Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, and Coyoacán municipalities.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Andrés Gómez Servín (Guadalajara, 1983) is an editor and graphic designer. He established Mixedmedia.press publishing house in 2015, focusing on the editing, design and publishing of books and art publications. His work has been exhibited in Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica, Switzerland, and Japan.
