Maintenance and care: Keeping copper utensils in good condition and shiny requires a little effort and care. Materials needed: Baking soda, lemon, salt, flour, a soft cloth, warm water, and linseed oil.
Instructions:
Wash the utensils: Begin by washing your copper utensils with hot water and mild soap. Rinse them well and dry them completely.
Create a paste: To remove stains and restore shine, mix baking soda and lemon juice in a bowl to form a paste. Apply this mixture to the stained areas of the utensils and let it sit for a few minutes.
Rub gently: Using a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, gently rub the stained areas with the paste. The baking soda and lemon will help remove stains and restore the copper's original shine.
Wash and rinse: After rubbing the stains, wash the utensils again with warm water and dry them thoroughly.
Polishing with flour: To add shine, sprinkle a little flour onto a clean, dry cloth. Rub the copper utensils with this cloth in circular motions. This will give them a brilliant shine.
Protect with linseed oil: To prevent future tarnishing and maintain shine, apply a thin layer of linseed oil to copper utensils. Rub gently with a clean, dry cloth. The linseed oil will form a protective layer.
Proper storage: Store copper utensils in a dry place away from moisture to prevent staining.
By following these steps, your copper utensils will remain in excellent condition and retain their original shine. Remember that copper can develop a patina over time, giving it a unique look and enhancing its beauty.
