Artisanal whiskey, made with a mixture of native corn from the Oaxacan Coast, Sierra Mixteca Alta, Chinantla Baja and Central Valleys, fermented with sourdough or “sour mash”, without cold filtration. In this distillate you can appreciate the sweetness of tender corn, aged in oak barrels that provide flavors of spices, vanilla and green apple.

Maíz Nation is a tribute to the original communities of the Mixteca Alta, Sierra de Juárez, Chinantla and Costa de Oaxaca, who with care and patience have preserved their corn throughout countless generations. The rich terroir that this bottle evokes transcends all notions of altitude, climate, soil, or biological intersection. As important as each of these factors is, for the Maíz Nation project the most valuable thing is the families, the communities, their history and their culture.

Maíz Nation distillates are a tribute to the farmers who have preserved the crops of native and ancient species, to traditional cultivation methods, soil conservation, the right of farming families to propagate and conserve their own seeds and seed banks. community grains. All of this represents food sovereignty and the cultural diversity of indigenous peoples.
