ARCHITECTURE
This book brings together 50 projects built in Latin America between 2010 and 2015 by architects or groups of architects under 50 years of age. The selection focuses on architecture for public use, in a period highlighted by participatory processes and community relationships that enable the construction of spaces as benchmarks within the continent, suggesting radical positions in the ways of making contemporary architecture.
The publication groups works from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, making it possible to outline the panorama of current Latin American architecture in order to understand its differences and similarities.
The projects are grouped in the book by country and are classified into two formats that allow for describing and cross-referencing the information of each one. The first includes an essay about the works and their selection, showing all the technical information and planimetry of the projects; the second presents a photographic selection of the works as an album, like someone traveling across the continent and its landscape through these radical projects.
