Peruvian psychedelic Cumbia and Chicha from the archives of the legendary Infopesa label, 1968-1982. Alberto Maraví was the man behind the Peruvian label Infopesa. A key figure in the creation of Peruvian cumbia, he recorded and produced legendary bands such as Los Mirlos, Los Orientales de Paramonga, Juaneco y Su Combo, Los Pakines—all featured here—and many more. Original records from the Infopesa label are highly sought after today by discerning collectors and DJs worldwide, who marvel at the exotic mix of jungle sounds, reverb-drenched electric guitars, and echo effects. This LP is the perfect introduction to this amazing and unique genre.
All tracks have been taken from the original master tapes. It includes detailed liner notes written by Alberto Maraví (in English and Spanish), with an exclusive introduction by Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand) and unreleased photographs from the Infopesa archive. It also features tracks by Eusebio y Su Banjo, Manzanita y Su Conjunto, Los Rumbaney, Sonido 2000, Aniceto y Sus Fabulosos, and Los Invasores de Progreso.

Infopesa "Industria Fonográfica Peruana S.A" is a classic and legendary Peruvian label, founded in 1971 by the renowned and visionary music producer Alberto Maraví. Its dedication to promoting Peruvian artists and preserving the country's musical heritage has made INFOPESA an important name among enthusiasts of Latin and popular music around the world. In 2023, INFOPESA and MIDAS RECORDS formed an alliance for the exclusive distribution of their vinyl records to meet the demand of record stores and wholesalers worldwide.

A simple guide to cleaning and caring for your hard drives:
Dry Brushing: Use an anti-static brush specifically designed for vinyl records. Brush the record counterclockwise before and after each playback to remove dust and particles.
Wet Cleaning: For a deeper clean, use a cleaning solution designed for vinyl records or a mixture of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol in a 3:1 ratio. Apply the solution to a soft, clean cloth or cleaning pad and rub gently in a clockwise direction.
Proper Drying: Make sure the vinyl is completely dry before placing it in its sleeve. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to dry the vinyl or let it air dry.
Proper Storage: Store vinyl records in their original sleeves whenever possible. Store them upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
Avoid Dirty Surfaces: Make sure the surfaces where you place the vinyl decals are clean to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating.
Handle with Care: Handle vinyl records by the edges and avoid touching the playing surface. Use a stylus in good condition and ensure the turntable tonearm is properly set to prevent unnecessary wear.
Avoid Spilled Liquids: Keep liquids, such as drinks or cleaning fluids, away from your vinyl records and the turntable area.
Turntable Maintenance: Ensure the stylus is clean and in good condition. Adjust and calibrate the turntable according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
