In 1848, Mexico was forced to cede approximately half of its territory to the United States to end the war, which currently includes the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. It is estimated that by 2025, around 55 million native Mexicans, descendants, and undocumented individuals will reside in the United States.
